MARQUETRY WITH JACK WHITWORTH
JACK WHITWORTH a Calgary resident, has done Marquetry for over 30
years.
The window method taught in this workshop is a traditional hand
technique using a small knife. This method where the design is
constructed piece by piece as a single sheet of veneer is then fastened
to a baseboard upon completion. This allows the user to achieve
exceptional detail and has raised the craft to great heights of
artistry. Participants will have the opportunity to compete a small
picture from materials provided. Participants need to bring a small
X-acto style knife with No. 11 (small pointed) blade. Limited to 10
participants, $99.00, includes materials.
